Nose
Comprehensive nasal aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Rhinoplasty/Septorhinoplasty
This procedure is commonly termed the nose job. It is a surgery to alter the shape of the nose to achieve aesthetic goals and airway goals. We have vast experience in this field, having treated many complex cases that have been referred from other surgeons from around the country. We have also pioneered our own techniques in this field. Particularly in the case of patients who have had unsatisfactory results from previous surgery elsewhere, we provide comprehensive treatment by revision surgery. The majority of our work is done by open approach, with barely a visible scar. We rarely use packing material in the nose, so that it is much more comfortable for you after the surgery.
We absolutely do NOT have a cookie cutter approach to the nose. Everyone is an individual with their own uniqueness. We make it a priority to craft you a nose that suits the rest of your features.
We use many techniques depending on the exact operative goals for you as an individual. It is often tempting to advertise the latest gadget in rhinoplasty, however, is there any purpose if it does not achieve the nose you want?

Septal perforation closure
Septal perforations are a distressing and unfortunately common problem. Most patients are told that its too big to close or that a button is the only option. However, we have have extensive experience with closing the perforation to restore the natural functions in the nose. The suitability for surgery is not entirely dependent on size but is a complex assessment and varies from patient to patient.
We are proud to say that we have >90% successful closure rate. We do almost all our closures through an open approach (a small incision inbetween your nostrils) and we can correct any change in shape of the nose at the same time.

Rhinophyma
Rhinophyma has a significant and very unfair social stigma attached to it. It is common to see the depiction of alcoholics with red bulbous noses. There is, however, no relationship between alcohol and rhinophyma. It is in fact an extreme form of a particular type of acne. Although the nose is almost always affected, it can also affect the cheeks, chin and forehead. At its worst it can block off the nose or intrude on the eyelids and lips.
It is a condition that we have published on and gained significant experience with. Depending on the extent of disease, we use a combination or scalpel, dermabrasion and CO2 LASER to treat it. We do recommend a dermatologist be involved in your care from the beginning as there are medical treatments that should be started regardless of if you wish to have surgery.
