Otoplasty

Commonly referred to as "pinning back" the ears. Prominent ears or "bat ears" are a common problem with significant associated psychological issue from related bullying.

There are many ways to do this procedure. We use a technique pioneered in Austria by Dr Raunig which is unique, customised to each individual's specific ear issue and does not remove any cartilage. We found that old techniques are wholly reliant on sutures, removed too much cartilage or damaged the cartilage unnecessarily. Dr Raunig's technique allows preservation of the cartilage and very limited cutting through the cartilage. We find this technique reliable and elegant.

Split Earlobe

Split earlobes are a common problem in people with earlobe jewellery.  Especially if the jewellery is heavy, it can slowly cut through the earlobe.  Sometimes this happens from injury.  Most commonly people just stitch it together, however, this tends to disrupt the natural smooth curve of the earlobe.  Our technique developed from experience restores the natural contour with the repair.

Repair after expander use

Earlobe expanders are fairly common, however, as people change their desired style and take the expander out, the whole does not fully close.  We advise leaving a few months to allow the skin to shrink.  This can be closed surgically by cutting the inside rim of the hole and closing the raw edges.
