Scar reduction treatments.

Scars hold memories and affects confidence. Don't let a scar control how you feel.

Geometric Broken Line Scar Repair

This is a powerful and versatile technique. It leverages the idea that your brain is designed to notice straight lines.  In this technique the scar is removed and the skin edges made into variable geometric shapes. This interrupts the scar, breaking it into smaller lines, which the observers brain tends to "edit out." The versatility comes in the ability of the technique to re-orientate and re-balance the scar. It is a technically challenging technique but a powerful one.

W - plasty

This technique is less sophisticated than the one above but can achieve a good result in the right patient. The scar is removed and the edges made into repeating zig-zag "W" shapes.  In some areas like the neck or scalp, this technique can work well.

Z-plasty

This technique is useful for re-orienting and lengthening the scar. You may wonder why you would want to do that. This is due to the functional aspect of scars.  Scars contract and can pull or restrict movement.  Using this technique, a scar restricting neck movement could be relieved. Also, sometimes a scar can be re-orientated to position it within a natural skin crease, making the scar less visible.
